Click on Kenosha -- a Kenosha News story about my first website

Wisconsin Web designer since 1996

I put my first website — a guide to Kenosha, Wisconsin — online in March, 1996. This little experiment in information sharing was a wild success. In no time, besides Kenosha and Racine, I had readers in Tokyo, Italy, and Addis Ababa. My site became a point of contact for out-of-town diners, for corporations seeking to do business in Kenosha, and for one homesick NPR correspondent.

Helping businesses to connect

Before long, businesses began asking for my help in sharing their stories. I created the first website for Corporate Images, Inc., a Racine-based business-to-business marketing agency. This led to additional Web development opportunities — for corporate clients like Powerbrace Corporation, Tetra Pak Processing, and Renaissance Mark, as well as small businesses like Little Europe at Timber Ridge Restaurant, Dick's Roof Repair Service, and the Credit Bureau of Racine/CBR Foundation. The Kenosha News even brought me in to teach a Web development class to their online staff.

7 years with CBS Radio

Beginning on September 11, 2001, I was invited to devote the majority of my Web expertise to The Steve Dahl Show on CBS Radio in Chicago. Working from my home in Kenosha — and later Racine — until the show ended in December 2008, I tracked down news and information via Internet and electronic media, then instantly summarized and communicated it all to the other show members through a continuously-updating, Web-based system I also designed.
